BLINK

The public art show, BLINK, a takeover of an abandoned building’s windows in Chicago, was seen by over 1.2 million people. To promote LGBTQ suicide awareness, Horner focused window projections on life with his boyfriend, Chris, who committed suicide.

Homes

Horner works with clients to create special installations that resonate personally with them for their homes. He can work in your home or his studio and get feedback to work collaboratively as the work is produced.

A client in Sutton Place, NYC, had “Feast of Esther,” 2011, mounted and hung in their dinning room for lively conversation.

They also wanted peaceful abstractions for their living room. Horner channeled Franz Kline for these works.

He worked in a client’s home in Seattle to create “Avedon’s Marilyn, Secrets,” for a POW! in their entry way/livingroom.

For a Manhattan couple, Horner created a memorable scene with the drag queen, Shequida Hall, who performed at their wedding.

A long-time collector in Long Beach, NY, liked “Civilization” from 2011, but wanted it split into a diptych and hung like a tapestry to give it more depth and interest.

A Miami client had “Summertime” from 2011 mounted and placed in his living room for a huge Hola!

Award-Winning Pajamas

In 2011, Horner won the OUT magazine, Sleepwear design competition that featured characters from one of his paintings. He received an interview spread in the magazine and a fashion show at their NYC Pride event.

Whitney Museum Project

In 2010 Horner participated in Off the Wall: Part 1 - Thirty Performative Actions, I Will Never Make Any Boring Art at the Whitney Museum of American Art in NYC. He recreated John Baldessari’s performance where he wrote “I will never make any boring art” on the wall hundreds of times.
